He was born March 13, 1958, in Forsyth County to the late James Ray Harrington, Sr. and Helen Livingston Harrington. Jim was a faithful follower of Christ and a member of Woodland Baptist Church. This trend would continue into college, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. That degree would lead him to work at NAVAIR - Naval Air Systems Command, igniting the flame that would later commence his Naval career. Stephanie Lynette Alston was born on January 10, 1978 at Chapel Hill, North Carolina to Kenneth Coy Lee and Cindy Jo Alston. She attended the Chatham Public School system and her hobbies were getting her hair and nails done.
